CAREER PATHWAYS

The Career Pathways program supports corpsmembers’ success during and after their time at CCNB. We offer individualized case management, job skills workshops, trainings and certifications, connections to employers, and more to help each corpsmember reach their goals.

Corpsmember Success

Some recent job placements include WRA Environmental Consultants, Marin County Parks, Sonoma County Regional Parks, and Clean Harbors, with wages that range from $20 to $28 an hour.

Community Resources

CCNB relies on a robust network of partners and community organizations that provide corpsmembers with additional services, such as housing, childcare, legal assistance, and more.

Industry-Recognized Certifications

CCNB offers over 30 certifications and trainings that help corpsmembers advance in their careers, focusing on topics such as safety, tool use, ecology, and environmental policy.

Job Fairs

Corpsmembers regularly attend job fairs that are hosted in collaboration with CCNB partners. These events help corpsmembers secure jobs and expose them to career opportunities in natural resources and waste management.

FIRE Foundry

CCNB is a key partner for FIRE Foundry. This employment opportunity with CCNB can be full-time or part-time in conjunction with the FIRE Foundry educational program. Crew members carry out defensible space work in the community under the mentorship of a CCNB Supervisor and Marin County Fire Fighter.

Financial Literacy Workshops

Corpsmembers attend Financial Literacy Workshops led by trusted partners such as Redwood Credit Union.

Services

Weekly Career Pathways workshops offer a variety of ways for corpsmembers to discover their interests and learn about career opportunities available to them. Workshop topics include:

  • Workplace readiness and life skills
  • College and career exploration
  • Resume preparation and mock interviews
  • Career speakers and presentations
  • Off-site field trips

Each corpsmember is paired with a Career Pathways staff member who provides one-on-one support and mentorship. Our case management focuses on individualized service strategies that are tailored to fit each corpsmember’s unique goals and needs.

These services are provided consistently throughout each corpsmember’s journey at CCNB, as well as for two years after they move on.

When corpsmembers are ready to leave our program and move to the next step, CCNB’s Career Pathways team connects them to opportunities in their chosen field, providing guidance during the interview process and supporting the transition into their new job.

To do this, we maintain active working relationships with dozens of employers across the North Bay and serve as one of their go-to recruitment partners. We also host career fairs each year that connect corpsmembers to employers during their peak hiring season.

CCNB is not just a company, or a job, or a resource. It’s my home, away from home. The supervisors, and my coworkers are my family. I had a really difficult time this year, and they went that extra mile to make feel supported but most of all appreciated.

Erik R.

Corpsmember

CCNB has really changed my life. I have learned so much from using a chainsaw, to learn to speak English. I cannot wait to see all the doors that CCNB has helped open for me.

Flor V.

Former Corpsmember

There is no place like CCNB! I remember my first day being scared, and now I can’t understand when I learned all the skills I have. I’m so ready to put to use all the skills I have learned.
