Marin Corpsmember of the Year

Cesar

Cesar turned a year of opportunity into a transformative launchpad for his career. With focused determination, he successfully completed the program’s academic track to earn his high school diploma and established a critical foundation for his future.

Building on that momentum, Cesar proactively engaged in workforce training, earning industry-recognized certifications such as OSHA-10 Safety, First Aid/CPR, HAZWOPER 40, and Forklift Operation. During his time at CCNB he became a translator for the field program and obtained his driver’s license.  All of these achievements helped him secure employment after completing our program as a Landscape Restoration Technician at Prunuske Chatham where he continues to develop new skills.

Beyond the documents, Cesar consistently demonstrated a strong work ethic, teamwork, and a commitment to personal growth throughout the process. His journey from enrollment to qualified professional is a testament to his perseverance and the power of the program’s supportive model.

Sonoma Corpsmember of the Year

Marx

Marx started as a Natural Resources crew corpsmember in February 2024. When he first enrolled at CCNB, he faced various challenges that he eventually overcame after committing to investing in himself. Learning healthier habits and lifestyle changes cleared a path for him to take full advantage of all CCNB has to offer and to be successful in the program.

After gaining experience in Natural Resources and reaching a Sawyer 3 level certification, he moved to the Zero Waste crew to further his skills. One of the main goals Marx had when joining CCNB was to earn his high school diploma which he successfully achieved in September 2025. He also worked his way through CCNB’s LevelUP system, which guides corpsmembers to achieve personal and professional milestones and includes pay incentives along the way. Marx has obtained many certificates during his time with us, including: CPR, OSHA-10, Sawyer 1, 2, and 3, DTSC (Department of Toxic Substances Control), and E-Waste Universal Training. As a Firefighter Type 1, Marx brought a lot of experience and knowledge and was a source of motivation for his fellow corpsmembers.
