Jessica joined CCNB just over two years ago—right before the pandemic swept onto the scene. Before CCNB, she was working doing landscaping with her brothers and learned about CCNB from her sister, who had worked with us in the past. In her two years with CCNB, Jessica has worked with both Natural Resources crews and the Zero Waste program while attending our onsite charter school and working towards her high school diploma. She really enjoys school and continually impresses our staff members and teachers. One of her supervisors wrote, “Since day one, Jessica has displayed an extremely through and hardworking ethic, and takes no task lightly.” Just two months ago, she was promoted to Assistant Crew Leader, helping guide and mentor her teammates.

Jessica values helping people and her community and hopes to become a doctor or nurse in the future. At CCNB, one of her favorite parts of the job is helping the community at recycling events and talking to people about the importance of keeping waste out of our streets and landfills. Jessica’s favorite event was working on tire recycling in Ukiah because she enjoys being able to travel to new cities and counties and meet the people we serve. She also highly values the help that the Career Pathways provides, saying how much the trainings and workshops have helped her and her fellow corpsmembers.
