Pile burning is one of many strategies used to help reduce fire fuels in our region. This past spring, CCNB staff participated in trainings supported by our partners at The Watershed Research & Training Center and Sonoma Land Trust, providing an immersive learning experience for crew supervisors, equipping them with comprehensive knowledge of burn pile tools, techniques, and safety protocols. Additionally, a collaboration with California State Parks created an opportunity for corpsmembers to gain hands-on experience with this technique at Trione-Annadel State Park, adding to the work skills they gain while in our program. These trainings built on CCNB’s vegetation management expertise, expanding the services we provide for partners to help protect our communities from the impacts of fire.
